Here's the image I made for my WIP writing project: SCP-9085!
I actually did paint this all by hand on roughly a 36" x 18.5" canavs (cardboard and paper lol). Although I used black arylics and a #700 Sable paintbrush.
All of the sigils may or may not mean something. The Seal of Solomon is just that, the main Uriel sigil is based on his most common sigil, the rest were made by me and taken from my personal little grimoire :3
I don't believe in magic or witchcraft or anything but I do like creating/drawing sigils so I have a nice leather journal for that! I forget what they all mean but they have nothing to do with ALAMANAC or Uriel lol.
The text at the bottom says (in admittedly poor penmanship) "Prāsei Áōi Áiōrnus Skōikrip" or "Grant Me Eternal Knowledge" in Dōryusā, a sorta conlang I started years ago.
I've actually had the idea for ALMANAC for a while now. They weren't orignally supposed to be an SCP, they were part of a larger project of mine.
They also didn't used to be prophetic, just sapient. Instead of being left on for all of those years, predicting away until the Foundation found them,
they would have been left locked away for years just asking for someone to talk to them again. One Dr. Michael D. Reynolds would eventually find the original ALMANAC
(the same is more-or-less true for 9085) but that's another story...
I wanted to create my own special memetic agent for my next article (SCP-9181) so I created the Keeton Memetic Paralytic Agent. I was mostly inspired by SCP-6019's memetic incapacitation device. The basic idea is that the images causes your entire body to seize up (it paralyzes you) so you can't scroll and farther and read the sensitve information.
It's partially inspired by 2718's whole DAMMERUNG thing... scary ass fucking article btw. So I guess an MTF squad or whatever relevant authorities would come get you if you fail the memetic check.
For the name I was inspired, of course, by the classic Berryman-Langford memetic kill agent, named after David Langford's 1988 short story BLIT (Berryman Logical Image Technique).
I had a few different ideas for the name like Crookshank, Bullmann, Bisson ("They're Made out of Meat" is maybe my favourite sci-fi short story :3) but I eventually settled on naming it after
Kathy Keeton, co-founder of Omni magazine
I made the image using the software "Frax," the very same software that Mr. Kevin Dooley used to create what would become the iconic Berryman-Langford image!
It was made for 2010s iPads so it ran like shit on my Mac :P
Here's the image I used for Dr. Aaron Mayhew! I honestly have no idea who this guy is...
This is just some random old photo I keep on a corkboard in my room, I found it at the Old Strathcona Antique Mall. The corkboard tells a whole little story kinda, it's a whole thing... I was going to do a whole animation project about it but I never ended up finishing it :/ His image is kept to the image of the church and I keep a gold wedding band hanging on the pushpin that holds the photo in place.
In my head I always called him Father Mayhew, because he kinda looks like a preist or smth to me and so it's like... he's the preist and this chruch that married whoever that ring belongs to.
I honestly have no idea how old this photo is... the only information I have gather from it is some very faded text on the back that says "Agfa-Portriga," which is the brand of photographic paper it was printed/shot on.
This is a photo of the abaonded Miette Aquacourt and Hot Springs. I honestly know very little about this place and its history,
in fact, I only just learned what this place was actually called. It had always just been an obscure abandoned building I saw as a kid.
I took this photo on a shitty dispoable camera (Kodak I believe?) on a school trip to Miette in (I think) 6th grade.
I've censored the faces of my various class mates, both for the sake of the SCP and the sake of their privacy.
(Also, it wouldn't do well to have photos of kids at the spooky, abandoned SCP building lol)
A slightly modified verison of this: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:ASU_-_Atomic_shelter_(21520409686).jpg
Currently a WIP for an upcoming SCP I wanna write, my own secondary/esoteric classifcation:
Aspin class refers to an object or area that no longer exists in baseline reality.
The name comes from the Cree word for gone, and the symbols is an Apollonian gasket.
